Found in Embers (Astrid Stone Book 1): Fun, fast paced read!
This is the first book I’ve finished in years.  I’ve been in quite a reading slump for many reasons…so, I just want to say thank you to this author for reigniting that passion.That may sound overly dramatic, but this pulled me in immediately, kept me interested in the plot and the characters, and moved fast.There were a few places where I felt like I was missing pieces, a few holes here and there, and because of that I was going to rate it 3.8. Found in Embers (Astrid Stone Book 1): Fun UF/portal fantasy
I always think I don't like urban fantasy/portal-type stories, and then I read books like this and wonder why I think that. This might make me rethink it, actually! This was such a fun, quick read with likable and complex characters, a cool magic system, and some unexpected twists. Astrid was easy to care for, and I liked how her focus remained on her sister for the whole story (as opposed to some books that start out with someone trying to find a family member and then forgetting about them when a love interest comes along). Found in Embers (Astrid Stone Book 1): Leaves you wanting more
This is my first time reading a book of this nature. I’m usually a murder mystery girl but was looking to branch out and I’m so glad I did and chose this book. It really pulled me in. I didn’t feel like it was too rushed or too far drawn out. The love and bond between Astrid and her sister was beautifully written. Found in Embers (Astrid Stone Book 1): REALLY fun book….A must read!
Found in Embers was so fast paced it was hard to put it down. More details could have been given but I actually enjoyed the fast paced story that evolved quickly and took unexpected turns that kept you engaged the whole time. Fast pace, never boring. Enough details that you understood and could visualize where the author was going. I would recommend and I am looking forward to reading the next book.
